During the mid 1980's Cordia Turbo's were used as highway patrol vehicles for the Australian Federal Police in many of Australia's States and Territory's. 
While most of these AA, AB & AC Highway Patrol Cordia's used the locally delivered 1.8L 110kw & 90kw Cordia Turbo engine. A very limited number of 200HP 4G63BT 8 valve air/air intercooled Japanese Spec Cordia's were used by the Police Highway Patrol. With a standard mid-14 second 1/4 mile these Chaser Police Cordia's gained quite a feared reputation whith speeding motorists.
