This is Dominics 86 model AC Cordia Turbo.
It was bought in completely stock condition
back in 2001. The previous owner had cooked the original engine and had
installed a brand new 4g62 from Mitsubishi ($4000) in 1997 as well as having
the turbo rebuilt.
New Mods include..........
*2 ½ straight through exhaust,
3 inch dumper
*GFB mach 1 BOV
*17inch wheels 205/40 silverstone rubber
*Sports steering wheel and gearknob
*The small Starlet intercooler and heatwrapped
piping mounted in engine bay did a good job at 10psi, but it has now been
replaced by a bigger front mount RX7 intercooler.
*around 14degrees base ignition timing
*cut airbox with 3 inch cold air pipe
feeding it from underneath.
*2nd thermo fan operated by a switch from
in cabin.
*lowered 3 inches at back, 2 inches at
front
*boost gauge.
* Boost pressure is set at a reliable
9psi in 1st and 2nd and 10psi in 3rd,4th and 5th.
* Stereo: Kenwood head unit, front - kenwood
6 inches, rear – alpine 6 x 9’s
This great modded Cordia goes extremely
well at the moment, but a bit more boost and a bigger front mount
cooler is on the cards and possibly a twin cam conversion.
